Operator in Training
The Township of Ocean Sewerage Authority is looking to expand it’s staff of dedicated and valued professionals who maintain our treatment plant by seeking an Operator in Training.

Located at 224 Roosevelt Avenue in Oakhurst, TOSA operates a 7.5 million gallons per day (MGD) pure oxygen activated sludge wastewater treatment facility. The Authority manages approximately 145 miles of sanitary sewer lines and 12 pump stations. In addition to Ocean Township, TOSA provides wastewater treatment services to the Boroughs of Allenhurst, Deal, Interlaken, and Loch Arbour.
This is the trainee-level classification within our wastewater operator titles. This is distinguished from a wastewater operator by the performance of less complex, more routine tasks and duties under close supervision, while learning to perform a full range of semi-skilled work related to the operation and maintenance of all equipment at the Authority. Upon recommendation of the Plant Foreman, positions in the classification advance to the level of Plant Operator after gaining the required experience, certifications and license to perform the full range of job duties.
